For editors

Waze took you the wrong way? You can fix it yourself.

The map in Waze is edited by people like you. A missing road, a turn restriction that's wrong, a closure that's no longer there: you can fix all of it in the online editor, with the same account you use in the app.

How to start

Three steps

  1. Open the editor

Sign in with the account you use in the Waze app. There's nothing to install.

    waze.com/editor
  2. Join our Slack

Introduce yourself and tell us where you drive. You'll get help, tips and a review of your first edits there.

  3. Start close to home

At level 1 you can edit up to 1.6 km from where you've driven with Waze. A more experienced editor reviews some of your edits.

    How you move up

We're all volunteers. We edit the map in our free time, so an answer on Slack can take a while. If nobody replies in a day or two, ask again. You don't have to be an expert, just a driver who pays attention.

Moving up

Editor levels

With experience you can edit a bigger area and take on harder things. Moving up depends on the quality of your edits, how present you are in the community and how well you work with others.
